Michelle Fowler
President (CPA, CIA, CISA)
Michelle T. Fowler is one of the owners and holds the title
of President for Fowler & Company, LLC. Michelle left
public accounting and founded the company in 2001 when she
realized there were limited options for smaller financial
institutions seeking traditional internal audit and control
consulting services in an outsourced environment. Michelle
is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal
Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor
(CISA). She has more than twelve years of internal audit
and consulting experience including three years in public
accounting (including big four experience), more than three
years with James River Bankshares and now four years with
Fowler & Company, LLC. Michelle also spent two years in the internal audit department
of the Neath Borough Council in Neath, Wales, UK.

James Peck
Senior Internal Auditor and Control Consultant (CPA, CBA)
Jim Peck joined Fowler & Company, LLC. in January 2005 as a
Senior Internal Auditor and Control Consultant. Jim is a
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Bank Auditor
(CBA). Jim earned a BBA from Marshall University, and is a
graduate of the School for Bank Administration at the University
of Wisconsin with an Audit major.
Jim spent over 25 years with Crestar Bank as an Audit Officer,
Division Controller, and Assistant Corporate Insurance Risk Manager.
He was controller for a local technology company for two years.
He has recently provided clients with contract accounting, tax,
and audit services, and spent much of 2004 assisting several large
Richmond companies with Sarbanes Oxley compliance.

Cheryl Swienton
Internal Auditor and Control Consultant
Cheryl joined Fowler & Company, LLC. in July 2004 as
an Internal Auditor and Control Consultant. Cheryl has a
Bachelor of Science degree from Utica College of Syracuse
University where she majored in Accounting.
Cheryl has more than 14 years of banking and financial
experience. She started her career working two years for a
CPA firm. She then worked as a Section Manager of the Funds
Transfer Division of the Bank of New York for over 7 years.
Cheryl was responsible for managing the production of several
hundreds of domestic and international transactions daily with a
staff of up to 25 people. Cheryl then spent over two years working
as an Accountant for a manufactured housing sales company. She was
responsible for the inventory floor planning and monthly financial
statements for six locations. Cheryl then returned to the Bank of
New York as an Officer in the Audit Division before relocating to Virginia.

Beverly Adams
Financial Application & Control Consultant
Beverly A. Adams joined Fowler & Company, LLC. in December,
2003 as a consultant specializing in financial applications and
controls and has more than 25 years experience in financial accounting.
She attended George Mason University and VCU majoring in language
arts with a concentration in accounting.
Beverly is experienced in all aspects of accounting and controls,
budgeting and strategic planning, financial systems applications,
mergers & acquisitions, due diligence, asset liability management,
regulatory examinations and staff management.
In the 25 years prior to her position with Fowler and Company, LLC., Beverly enjoyed positions in the community banking industry
ranging from controller of James River Bankshares (a multi-bank holding company)
to her most recent position of Chief Financial Officer with Citizens Bancorp of Virginia, Inc.
